Terms and Conditions of Business for the Engagement of Permanent Staff
Acceptance of Terms
Your receipt of a resume, interviewing or engagement of a candidate in any capacity, or the passing to any other person or organization of personal information pertaining to a candidate introduced to you by us, will be taken as your acceptance of our terms of business. If these terms are broken i.e. direct contact with our candidate there is not any guarantee - all subsequent terms of guarantee are null and void.
Fees for Contingent Assignments
A contingent assignment is where you are seeking candidates but you don’t necessarily approach us exclusively. Fees for contingent assignment are payable to us when you:
- Engage a candidate we introduced to you, in any capacity, within 12 months from date of introduction
- Pass on information concerning a candidate to any party that results in an engagement in any capacity, temp or perm.
Retained Assignments (Optional not Mandatory)
Fees are payable as per the following:
- Upon acceptance of the assignment one third of the total fee is payable
- Upon presentation of the short-listed resumes, one third of the total fee is payable
- Upon successful completion of the assignment the balance of the total fee is payable
Permanent Fee Schedule
Our recruitment fee is calculated on the total annual remuneration package as follows;

| £30,000 to £49,999 | 20% |
| Over £50,000 | 25% |
Remuneration packages are the total of remuneration in any form including Base Salary, Company Car or Vehicle Allowance and any other benefit.
You are liable to pay for agreed recoverable expenses (such as travel and accommodation), which will be billed, to you at cost, as a separate item on your invoice.
Our stated fees do not include any VAT. VAT will be calculated at the standard government rate and added to the invoice total.
Our WEB BASED Only Quality Guarantee
All permanent placements which derive ONLY from our website www.mcbarronwood.com are covered by our Platinum service guarantee. If the candidate leaves your employ within 13 weeks of their commencement, we will refund 100% of the fee to you.
Subject to the replacement role being exclusive to McBarron Wood.
Our replacement Platinum policy is subject to the following:
- The fee was paid within 14 days of the date of commencement
- We are notified in writing within 7 days of termination
- Termination of employment is not due to restructuring of the role, retrenchment or redeployment
Guarantee for all others
However for placements made outside of our website, i.e., canvassed emailed, telephoned these are guaranteed by our standard free replacement policy. If a candidate leaves your employ within 3 months or 12 weeks of commencement we will replace them to you with no further cost.
Suitability of Selection
We make every effort to ensure our candidates are suitable for your requirements.
We endeavour to ensure the complete authenticity of all information supplied through the reference checking process.
When a candidate is placed as an employee, you, the client have sole responsibility for the employee. McBarron Wood Recruitment has no liability or further obligations.
Confidentiality
All resumes and introductions are for the sole use of you and your company. You may not disclose any information regarding the candidate to any other party without our consent. All contact to be made through McBarron Wood by appointment.
Onward Referral
If at any time you disclose information regarding any candidates that have been introduced by McBarron Wood Recruitment to other parties, within a 12 month period from introduction, that results in their engagement in any capacity (temp or perm) a fee will apply as per our Fee Schedules.
Payment of Invoices
All of our fees are payable within 14 days of date of placement/commencement.
Conditions for Permanent/Contract Employment
The securing of employment/placing a recruitment instruction/s and or the acknowledgement of accepting a candidates details are deemed as the acceptance by client/company of McBarron Wood’s Terms of Business/Conditions.
The client/company accepts and agrees to pay a fee which is due upon commencement of employment for the successful candidate, on their first day of employment.
The client/company in addition agrees that McBarron Wood have therefore introduced to the client a shortlist of candidates for their employment vacancy of which a fee will be payable, if within a period of 12 months they approach and employ said candidate/s within their business/company.
If the client/company employs a McBarron Wood candidate/s on a contractual basis for a fixed term contract, the client/company agrees that there is a fee payable to McBarron Wood. Fee structures are set out below:
- Contracts of 1 – 3 months = 25% of permanent fee
- Contracts of 3 – 6 months = 50% of permanent fee
- Contracts of 6 – 9 months = 75% of permanent fee
- Contracts of 9 months + = 100% of permanent fee
These above fees are calculated uppon McBarron Wood’s permanent fee structure as set out in the above Terms and Conditions.
McBarron Wood reserve the right to only offer Client’s/Companies a 30% discount for vacacnies which have been supplied to them via www.mcbarronwood.com or otherwise negotiated with the McBarron Wood board of Directors. Where there are any questionable decisions or areas which client/company deem as grey - McBarron Wood’s Managing Director has the final decision. All decisions thereon are final.
Guarantee/McBarron Wood Platinum – replacement – For Contract / Fixed Term Contracts Only
If the client/company instructs a candidate to commence a contractual/fixed term assignment, McBarron Wood offers the following guarantee period to the client.
McBarron Wood will advertsie and network, working exclsuively for this client/company until such vacancy has been successfully replaced. McBarron Wood will work for this client/company on this specific assignment free of charge.
McBarron Wood’s standard terms of business run in conjunction.
For all decisions McBarron Wood’s Managing Director will make the final decision.
